Zhong Lun Law Firm has recently established a branch office in 齿颈’补苍, marking its first presence in northwest China and its 17th office worldwide. Previously, the firm had closed its offices in Haikou and London.

Anthony Zhao, chair of Zhong Lun’s management committee and a partner at its Shanghai office, said in a press release: “With stronger regional momentum, Zhong Lun will efficiently integrate global legal resources, further deepen its presence in central and western China, better serve Central and West Asia, and fully leverage the hub advantages of the Belt and Road to continuously support the region’s sustainable economic development.”

齿颈’补苍, the capital of Shaanxi province, is home to key industries including electronic information manufacturing, automotive manufacturing, aerospace, high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials and new energy, and biopharmaceuticals. Zhong Lun entered the Central Asian market in 2019 with the establishment of an office in Almaty, Kazakhstan’s economic centre. The launch of the 齿颈’补苍 branch further strengthens the firm’s service network in the Belt and Road Initiative.

Zhong Lun expects the 齿颈’补苍 office to leverage the firm’s strengths in various areas – such as capital markets, cross-border investment and M&A, international arbitration, litigation, export controls and sanctions, engineering projects and development, debt restructuring and distressed assets, corporate governance, banking and financial services – to meet the growing demand for legal services in central and western China and along the Silk Road Economic Belt.
