Ocampo & Suralvo Law Offices (OS Law) has launched a specialised disputes practice through the onboarding of litigation and arbitration specialist Anthony Jacoba as a partner and head of its new dispute resolution and insolvency practice group in Manila.

Jacoba, who founded Anthony V. Jacoba Law Office in 2020 after his time as a senior associate at SyCip Salazar Herandez & Gatmaitan, merged his firm with OS Law, which was looking to expand to a full-service firm, Asia Business Law Journal has learned.

“This alignment of goals made the merger a natural choice especially since our firms shared a commitment to integrity and a focus on practical outcomes. This integration ensures continuity for our shared clients while providing them with access to a broader range of services and expertise,” said Jacoba.

Having started his legal career as a junior associate at Salvador and Associates in 2009, Jacoba specialises in commercial litigation and arbitration, including intra-corporate or shareholder disputes and white-collar criminal cases. Over the years, he has represented clients in sectors from corporate, mining to housing and construction before all level of courts and regulatory agencies. He also advises on areas including labour and employment, land disputes, tax litigation and corporate internal investigations.

Earlier in this career, Jacoba also practised as a junior associate at ACCRA Law Offices and Caguioa and Gatmaytan. With his arrival, OS Law now counts six partners, four senior associates, 11 associates and two special counsels.
