
Linklaters has announced that Tien-yo Chao is to join the firm’s China practice. Chao joins from Morrison & Foerster in Hong Kong, where he has been a partner since 2003. He previously headed his own firm, and served as a partner at Slaughter and May. Chao has a broadly based corporate practice with a particular emphasis on M&A and equity capital markets.
Linklaters has also made two leadership appointments from within its China corporate practice. Fang Jian has been appointed national managing partner for China, and Betty Yap has been appointed head of the China practice.
Fang will lead the firm’s growth strategy in China, with particular emphasis on developing relationships with China-based clients. Yap will lead the interaction of the firm’s China practice with the firm’s international clients and global network.
