Simmons & Simmons has hired the former Freshfields’ counsel, Kenneth Hui, as the head of Hong Kong regulatory to strengthen its financial services practice.
With more than 10 years’ experience in the financial services industry, including time at the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, Hui specialises in tackling regulatory issues, fintech and digital matters, compliance, anti-money laundering, market abuse, digitisation, data privacy and artificial intelligence.
Simmons & Simmons said the APAC fintech practice would be an essential focus for Liu.
Recently, the firm has welcomed Richard Li, the former chief legal officer of I-MAB Biopharma, as a partner and head of healthcare and life sciences in greater China, further bolstering its presence in Hong Kong.
