Jia Yuan Law Offices has expanded the Hong Kong team with the recruitment of Howard Chan and Feng Wenxing as partner and counsel, respectively.

The firm said their addition would strengthen its capabilities in the cross-border dispute resolution and capital markets practice areas.

Chan, a former partner at Fangda Partners, specialises in litigation and arbitration. He has represented financial institutions, asset management companies and high-net-worth clients in disputes involving regulatory compliance and corporate governance.

He has a wealth of experience in handling anti-corruption investigations in the mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan. He also holds the rights of audience in Hong Kong’s High Court, and is qualified to appear before the Court of First Instance, the Court of Appeal and the Court of Final Appeal in Hong Kong.

Former Jones Day registered foreign lawyer, Feng, specialises in capital markets, M&A and securities regulatory compliance. His clients span from banking, financial services, healthcare and biotechnology to the retail sector.

In May this year, Jia Yuan hired four capital markets partners and counsel based in Hong Kong and Beijing in response to the recovery of the special region’s capital markets.
