HHP Law Firm, the Indonesian member firm of Baker McKenzie, has welcomed the return of real estate and M&A partner Bima Sarumpaet, aligning with growing investment demand.

“I am confident that he [Sarumpaet], along with colleagues from the HHP team, will help grow our real estate transactional service offering and meet clients’ growing demand as investments pick up pace,” Mita Guritno, managing partner of HHP, told Asia Business Law Journal.

Sarumpaet, with more than two decades of experience, has rejoined HHP after his tenure at MacalloHarlin Mendrofa Advocates as a partner. He joined HHP in 2005 and served the firm for more than 16 years. His expertise spans high-profile M&A, joint ventures, foreign direct investments, and real estate transactions across industrial, commercial and residential property sectors.

This move aligns with Baker McKenzie’s strategy to strengthen its foothold in Southeast Asia, particularly as the region emerges as a key destination for global investment. Andre Gan, Asia-Pacific chair of Baker McKenzie’s M&A practice, said: “His [Sarumpaet] return to HHP comes at a crucial time as we anticipate increased investment in the region, with investors pivoting towards Indonesia and Southeast Asia for growth opportunities and risk diversification.”
