Han Kun Law Offices has given its Shenzhen and Shanghai teams a lift with the addition of bankruptcy and restructuring specialists Du Wenle, Zhang Yao and Zhu Lei from TianTong Law Firm.
Du, who joins Han Kun’s Shenzhen office, is a former partner and head of the bankruptcy and restructuring department for the South China region at TianTong.
His signature project was the restructuring of Founder Group and four of its subsidiaries, which the Supreme People’s Court recognised as one of the top 10 commercial cases in 2021. The restructuring specialist has handled cases involving the shipping, real estate, petrochemicals and industrial parks sectors.
Zhang and Zhu – formerly a senior counsel and partner at TianTong, respectively – have joined Han Kun’s Shanghai office.
Zhang, who previously practised at King & Wood Mallesons, has extensive experience in advising listed companies on bankruptcy reorganisation, as well as helping large corporates with debt and asset restructuring. Sectors such as real estate, chemical, and manufacturing have sought his advice.
Zhu, formerly head of TianTong’s bankruptcy and restructuring department in the southwest region, has 15 years of legal experience and specialises in tackling commercial crisis resolutions.
He participated in the restructuring of listed Jilin Liyuan Precision Manufacturing as an administrator, which was selected as one of the top 10 civil and commercial cases in Jilin province in 2020.
