Haiwen & Partners adds Li Fangzheng and Ginger Jiang as partners to its Beijing and Shenzhen offices, and they are both formerly members of Fangda Partners’ compliance and government enforcement team.
Li, a former police officer who is now a specialist in the commercial crime practice, will be based in both the Beijing and Shenzhen offices. He is particularly skilled in responding to government enforcement, defending clients in financial crime cases, conducting internal anti-fraud investigations and advising on corporate rights protection.
Before kickstarting his legal career at Fangda as a counsel, Li worked in public security for more than 13 years.
Jiang is a customs specialist who will be based in the Shenzhen office, while her expertise includes trade compliance, criminal defence, and advising clients to cope with administrative enforcement and investigations.
During her former days as a lawyer at China Customs, Jiang primarily handled administrative penalties and smuggling cases. She contributed during the amendment of regulations, such as the Customs law, the administrative punishment rulebook and measures for administrative punishment hearings. After stepping away from public service, she joined Fangda and was promoted to counsel.
