Beijing-headquartered Grandall Law Firm has opened new offices in Milan and Budapest, marking its fourth and fifth branches in Europe after offices in Paris, Madrid and Stockholm. The expansion creates a legal services network spanning key regions across western, southern, northern, central and eastern Europe.

The two offices are also the firm’s 40th and 41st global branches.

The firm said in a press release: “The establishment of Grandall’s European offices reflects not only the demand from Chinese companies ‘going global’ for high-quality cross-border legal services, but also a strategic move by China’s legal sector to integrate into global governance and safeguard the legitimate overseas interests of Chinese enterprises.”

Grandall formed a strategic partnership with Milan-based law firm CHORD Legal at the end of 2025. The Milan firm focuses on sectors including energy, fashion, manufacturing, technology and food. In February this year, CHORD Legal was formally renamed Grandall Italy, with its entire team joining the firm.

The Milan office comprises eight lawyers, including partners, and is jointly led by equity partners Marco Bergamaschi, Massimo Di Muro, Mara Sartori, Gabriele Gualeni and Alberto Deasti. The five partners have extensive experience in M&A, litigation and arbitration, tax, corporate crisis management and commercial contracts.

Bergamaschi and Di Muro co-founded CHORD Legal, while Sartori and Gualeni were founding partners of legal and tax advisory firm Proxima Advisory. Deasti was previously an equity partner at CHORD Legal before joining Grandall.

At the same time, Grandall has signed a strategic partnership with Hungarian firm KOZESCHNIK & Partner Law Office, which has been active in the country for nearly two decades. The firm has been renamed KOZESCHNIK & Partner GRANDALL Law Firm, serving as Grandall’s Hungary office.

The office comprises four core departments: legal, tax and accounting, public procurement and tendering, and real estate. Its practice areas cover corporate and commercial law, real estate, immigration, industrial law and finance, spanning legal, tax, accounting, public procurement and property services.

The Hungary office has around 30 staff, including partners, lawyers, counsel and administrative personnel, and is headed by Bálint Kozeschnik. He focuses on corporate, real estate and M&A matters, with expertise in economic crimes and other criminal legal issues.

Before joining Grandall, he practised at European law firm CEE Lawyers. Also formerly with CEE Lawyers, Zsófia R?nky now is managing partner of the Hungary office, specialising in commercial law, family law, debt collection and public procurement.
