The legal and compliance department of China Yangtze Power International (Hong Kong) Co is a professional, efficient and innovative team. The team provides support for the company’s energy investment, M&A, securitisation and listing, compliance management, foreign-related litigation and other work across multiple jurisdictions, including Hong Kong, China and Peru.
From 2019 to 2024, the team led and completed major projects, including the acquisition of the Luz del Sur project in Peru, the issuance of global depositary receipts (GDRs) by China Yangtze Power Co, as well as the Arrow photovoltaic project and Sapphire wind power project in Peru, with a total transaction value of up to USD6.8 billion. Among them, the Luz del Sur project was the largest overseas power acquisition project by a Chinese-funded enterprise that year, and the GDR project was the first GDR issuance by a Chinese industrial enterprise. It was also the first non-financial central state-owned enterprise to be listed in Shanghai and London through the Shanghai-London Stock Connect programme, attracting wide attention from the international energy market.

The Midea Real Estate legal sharing centre is an integrated management team. It is mainly responsible for the legal work of Midea Real Estate Group and its subsidiaries. Their efforts significantly contributed to brand value protection, market order maintenance, and fostering a culture of compliance while providing robust legal support for sustainable business growth.
In intellectual property protection, the team built a comprehensive network combining online and offline measures alongside administrative and judicial actions. Several landmark cases earned widespread industry recognition. In compliance management, they issued key data security policies addressing areas such as data protection and labour relations. By conducting routine inspections and surprise audits, they ensured compliant operations and achieved zero administrative penalties throughout the year.
For contract management, proactive risk controls and expert negotiations successfully resolved disputes amicably, preventing losses exceeding tens of millions of renminbi. In anti-bribery and anti-corruption efforts, the team introduced a Code of Business Ethics, established reporting channels and audit mechanisms, embedded compliance reviews in high-risk areas, and conducted targeted training programmes resulting in zero major commercial corruption incidents in 2024.
