Kain Lawyers has bolstered its national footprint with the inauguration of a new office in Melbourne and the appointment of Nick Brown as director, enhancing the firm’s expertise in M&A and corporate transactions.

John Kain, managing director at Kain Lawyers, said: “In the past five years, we have successfully closed over 300 deals totalling more than USD10 billion. Many of these deals have been based in Melbourne, so our Melbourne office will enable us to better serve our existing clients in this critical capital market.”

Brown, formerly the national head of PwC Australia’s legal business, joins Kain Lawyers with experience in M&A, private equity, capital raising and corporate transactions. During his 13-year tenure at PwC Australia, Brown led the national M&A and the firm’s legal business across the country.

Brown will be joining Jeremy Collins, another Melbourne-based director who commenced with Kain Lawyers earlier this year. The firm has more than 65 professionals across offices in Sydney, Adelaide and now Melbourne.
