Global firm Jones Day has announced the addition of John Walker as a partner, supporting the firm’s cross-border and domestic tax practice in Australia.
Walker brings to the team a 21-year tenure as a partner at Baker McKenzie. His practice has spanned multiple high-stakes areas, including corporate and debt restructurings, M&A, spin-offs and structured finance transactions. He has worked closely with the Australian Tax Office on private and class rulings, tax policy initiatives and the settlement of outstanding tax liabilities.
He joins a team of professionals focused on providing integrated tax transaction support and defence services. With his arrival, the firm aims to enhance its representation of multinational clients before the Australian Tax Office, supported by its tax disputes team led by Niv Tadmore in Melbourne.
