Introduction

Nicole Shroff is a veteran corporate lawyer with more than 28 years of experience advising on cross-border M&A, financial regulatory, financing, corporate and commercial contracts, securities law, asset management, private equity and venture capital. She has extensive cross-border expertise and a deep understanding of doing business in India, Singapore, the UAE and the UK. She is a co-founder of Ansh Legal, where she advises clients on strategic business initiatives and complex transactions.

Ansh Legal, co-founded by Nicole and Aditya Shroff, operate a partner-led, one office two location practice from Abu Dhabi and London focusing on UAE law advice. Its mantra is to use law as a tool to deliver business solutions to its clients by leveraging the extensive experience of its partners.

The firm’s recent work includes cross-border M&A transactions, regulatory matters in the UAE including APM Capital (ADGM) and DIFC, capital raising, asset & wealth management, fund and fintech platform launches and complex financial services structures across multiple jurisdictions.

Before Ansh Legal, Nicole was the general counsel and corporate secretary at Dunia Finance (now Deem Finance) in the UAE for several years, following a successful career as a partner at Wadia Ghandy & Co in Mumbai and Singapore. She has extensive experience dealing with financial and securities regulators in India, Singapore, the UAE and the UK apart from several institutions, funds and corporate houses.

As its independent director, Nicole also provides strategic guidance to the management of ADGM, a category II financial institution. She also advises several funds and family offices on strategy and investments. She recently advised on a strategic acquisition of a UK-based commodities broking business, buyout of a minority shareholder in a technology business, and a global PE fund purchasing the entire shareholding of a marine-tech business.

Nicole is registered in India and as a registered legal consultant with Abu Dhabi Global Market.
