Hogan Lovells has bolstered its corporate and finance practice in Singapore with the appointment of Eric Tan as a partner.
Tan joins from Ashurst, where he had been based in Hong Kong since 2018 and most recently served as a partner. He previously practised at Fangda Partners and Linklaters.
He specialises in financing for acquisitions, funds, structured lending, pre-IPOs and real estate, margin loans and private note issuances, as well as private equity investments through debt and convertible instruments.
Tan also brings more than 20 years of experience advising financial institutions, private credit funds, multinational corporates and private equity sponsors on complex cross-border financing transactions.
“Eric’s hire reflects our continued focus on strengthening our corporate and finance capabilities in Singapore and across Asia. His experience in acquisition finance, fund finance, structured lending, real estate finance and private credit is highly complementary to our existing practice and global platform,” Owen Chan, regional managing partner, Asia Pacific, told Asia Business Law Journal.
Tan’s arrival follows Hogan Lovells’ recent announcement of its merger with Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft. The combined firm will operate as Hogan Lovells Cadwalader from 1 July 2026.
