Korean law firm Dentons Lee has bolstered its labour and employment practice group with the addition of Seon Ae Choi as a senior attorney in January, who has decades of experience in human resources matters.
“Choi is expected to create a synergistic effect with our existing labour team by not only handling traditional legal services such as litigation and advisory, but also by flexibly responding to new demands arising from evolving business environments, such as safety and health management diagnostics related to serious industrial accidents and ESG compliance,” said Heejun Choi, chief managing attorney of Dentons Lee.
The recruitment of Seon Ae Choi marks Dentons Lee’s second senior-level hire for its labour and employment practice in the past four months. In September last year, Dentons Lee took on former Bae, Kim & Lee’s employment and labour group partner Eunjee Kim as a senior attorney to lead the firm’s human resources and labour practice group.
Before joining Dentons Lee, Choi served as a partner at Jeongyul and DR & AJU and as an attorney at Kim, Shin & Yu and Lee International, which combined with Dentons in 2020 to form Dentons Lee. Dually qualified in Korea and New York, she has represented clients in cases involving disputes such as labour, dismissals, unfair practices, correction of discrimination against non-regular workers and violations of fair representation obligations related to multiple unions.
“We are continuously reinforcing the labour team with new talent to promote internal organisational stability,” said Heejun Choi.
