International law firm DAC Beachcroft has signed an alliance with Gilchrist Connell, an Australian insurance law firm, marking another step in its Asia-Pacific expansion strategy.

“With the alliance, colleagues from across DACB’s offices in the Asia-Pacific, the UK, Europe, North America and Latin America will now have the benefit of a formal platform to further collaborate with Gilchrist Connell in support of our insurance clients,” Helen Faulkner, head of insurance at DAC Beachcroft, told Asia Business Law Journal.
Richard Wood, managing principal at Gilchrist Connell, said this move “will enable both firms to provide a seamless client experience in the insurance sector”.

While there are no plans for DAC Beachcroft to open an office in Australia, the firm views the market as a priority. “Australia is an important focus for DACB … Our association with Gilchrist Connell will guide our further investment,” said Faulkner.
“The firms already share many clients who are familiar with both firms and will benefit from their consistent approach to the provision of legal services,” said Wood.
The alliance will be jointly managed by DAC Beachcroft’s partners Summer Montague, Singapore head; Ross Risby, head of the Hong Kong office; and Patrick Hill, head of professional and financial lines in London.
This move follows DAC Beachcroft’s series of recent expansions, including its Hong Kong office launch in September 2024 and a 2023 association with Singapore-based Incisive Law.
