Conyers has announced the establishment of its litigation and restructuring practice in Singapore, led by director Anna Lin from the firm’s Hong Kong disputes team.

“Our Hong Kong litigation and restructuring team has been servicing clients in the region for over 12 years … In the past couple of years … there was a much stronger need to visit Singapore and the region regularly for meetings with clients. It became obvious to us that our clients need an on-the-ground team to support them. Hence, we made a conscious decision to establish the practice to meet their needs,” Christopher Bickley, head of Asia and managing partner for the Hong Kong office at Conyers, told Asia Business Law Journal.

Lin, a practitioner in cross-border liquidation, restructuring, corporate disputes and trusts, joined the firm in 2016. She will lead the practice while continuing her involvement with her clients and team in Hong Kong.

The new practice is set to focus on complex cross-border litigation and restructuring, particularly involving companies with connections to Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and other countries in the region.

“We have healthy and friendly relationships with the strongest practices within the region, including international, regional and local law firms. With Anna’s relocation, we foresee those relationships to be even stronger,” Bickley told Asia Business Law Journal.
