Introduction
Guo Youning specialises in commercial litigation and arbitration. He has represented clients in numerous litigation matters before the Supreme People’s Court of the PRC and various local courts, as well as arbitration cases administered by several leading Chinese arbitration institutions.
Guo has extensive experience in areas such as commercial contracts, corporate governance, renewable energy, private equity funds, real estate and finance. He has catered to a wide range of clients, including large enterprises, financial institutions, listed companies, PE funds, and innovative technology firms. With a service philosophy focused on industry insights and personalised attention, he is quick to grasp and address his clients’ specific needs, earning their trust and acclaim.
Guo has authored many specialised articles on commercial litigation and arbitration, and he has been actively researching various topics, such as disputes in data transactions, China’s new Company Law and corporate governance compliance, judicial interpretations of the General Provisions of Contracts in the Civil Code and corporate contract management, disputes in the PE fund industry, and judicial arbitration reviews. He teaches courses to enterprises and legal interns, covering topics such as legal writing, court trial skills and litigation management.
Guo has been selected into the cross-border lawyer talent pool of the Beijing Lawyers Association. He is recognised as a Beijing Elite for commercial disputes in the Legal 500 China Elite 2026 guide. He was named in Legalband’s “2025 China Top Lawyers Ranking: Dispute Resolution: Litigation” and was listed among its “Under 40: Top 20 Dispute Resolution Lawyers” in 2025 and “Top 30 of China’s Legal Elite” in 2021.
Guo serves as a member of the Beijing Lawyers Association’s energy, natural resources and environmental protection law committee, as well as in two committees of the China Photovoltaic Industry Association. He is also a member of the China Arbitration Law Research Association.
