Introduction

Chen Wenying is a partner at Gaopeng & Partners. She specialises in civil and commercial litigation and arbitration, with extensive experience handling disputes in investment and financing, construction and infrastructure, real estate, media and entertainment. She focuses on resolving complex financial and capital markets disputes arising from sophisticated transaction structures, as well as diverse commercial conflicts.

Chen has represented clients in hundreds of lawsuits before courts and arbitration institutions across China, including the Supreme People¡¯s Court, the Beijing High People¡¯s Court, the Beijing Financial Court, the Guangdong High People¡¯s Court, the Hebei High People¡¯s Court, the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration, the Beijing Arbitration Commission, and the Shanghai International Arbitration Center. These cases have frequently achieved favourable judgments and received arbitral awards, resulting in highly satisfied clients.

Her clients include leading domestic and international corporations, financial institutions and listed companies, such as China Cinda Securities, Huarong Securities, CICC, China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation, China CITIC Bank Head Office, CITIC Capital, CITIC Culture Fund, Beijing Supply & Marketing Cooperative, Shougang Fund, Jiaozuo Wanfang Aluminum, La Liga, SK Group, and Dun & Bradstreet.

Before joining Gaopeng, Chen served as counsel at Jingtian & Gongcheng. She is also an arbitrator for the Quanzhou Arbitration Commission, deputy secretary-general of the Beijing Chaoyang District Lawyers Association¡¯s financial law research committee, a member of the Beijing Lawyers Association (BLA)¡¯s commercial arbitration professional committee, and a supervisor of master¡¯s students at Renmin University of China Law School.

Chen holds a Bachelor of Laws from Sichuan University, a Master of Laws from Peking University, and an LLM in International Business Law from Temple University.

In 2023, Chen was ranked among Legalband¡¯s ¡°Top 20 Dispute Resolution Lawyers ¨C Elite List¡± and selected for the BLA¡¯s foreign-related lawyer talent pool. She is fluent in Mandarin and English.
