Introduction

George Shang is a partner at JunHe, based in the Shanghai office. With a career at JunHe since 2011, his professional focus has been on capital markets. Throughout his tenure, Shang has provided advisory services to numerous public and private companies, gaining extensive expertise in public listings, private equity investments, and corporate mergers and restructuring.

In addition to his work at JunHe, Shang has also been engaged as an off-campus mentor for postgraduate students specialising in foreign-related matters at East China University of Political Science and Law. He also serves as an external specialist for Shanghai State-Owned Capital Investment Fund.

In 2022, Shang was selected by Asian Legal Business (ALB) as one of the Top 15 Rising Stars in Yangtze River delta. In 2023, he was recommended by China Business Law Journal (CBLJ) as one of the Rising Star Lawyers in the industry. In 2025, he was ranked among the Top 15 LegalOne Trusted Lawyers (Blue Ribbon) in TMT.

Major past achievements include:

• UCloud Technology: Listed on Star Market, becoming A-share¡¯s first public cloud firm and first with weighted voting rights (AB shares).
• Marketingforce Management: First batch of VIE HK-listed company approved by CSRC after new overseas listing rules took effect in March 2023.
• XPeng Automobile: The ¡°First Share of Smart Electric Vehicle¡± on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange through the duel prime listing.
• Shiseido & Boyu Capital: The co-investment RMB fund with Boyu Capital is the first fund established by Sheseido in the international market (non-Japanese), and is the first equity investment by Sheseido since Sheseido entering the PRC market 40 years ago.
