Introduction
As the managing partner of Guo Ju Law Firm and the senior partner of MHP Law Firm, Alex Hsin is among the pioneering Taiwanese attorneys qualified to practice in Shanghai, mainland China. He is a qualified patent attorney in Taiwan and a senior certified forensic accountant in both mainland China and the US. In 2011, Hsin was named one of the Asia-Pacific Top 100 Business Attorneys by Lawyer Monthly, a British professional magazine, and was ranked among China’s Top 100 Lawyers by China Business Law Journal from 2016 to 2018. Additionally, he was recognised as one of Taiwan’s Top 100 Lawyers by Asia Business Law Journal in 2019, and from 2022 to 2023.
On attaining his LLB degree from Fu Jen Catholic University, Hsin successively secured an MBA degree from National Taipei University, an LLM degree from Northwestern University in the United States, and a PhD degree from East China University of Political Science and Law. Additionally, he participated in the doctoral Business Administration programme at National Taipei University. Subsequent to his tenure in the legal department of PricewaterhouseCoopers (Taiwan) and his distinguished service at Lee & Li Attorneys-at-Law, he inaugurated Guo Ju Law Firm in 2008.
With years dedicated to cross-border investments, mergers, acquisitions and corporate governance, along with resolving commercial disputes, Hsin has earned a reputation for legal proficiency. Besides being well-versed in the business laws and market requirements on both sides of the strait, Hsin possesses extensive experience in the field of IP rights. Alongside his deep understanding of Taiwanese tax legislation, regulations, interpretations, and procedural tax practices, tax litigation also falls within Hsin’s realm of expertise. Services are extended to sectors as diverse as multinational information technology corporations, tobacco and liquor industries, fashion conglomerates, e-commerce platforms, online gaming, convenience store franchises, the automotive field, government entities, financial institutions, the media landscape, entertainment agencies and hotel chains.
