Introduction

Victor I-Hsiu Chang has 30 years of extensive multi-jurisdictional experience in M&A, private equity and venture capital fund formations, as well as cross-border transactions of all types, frequently involving parties from the US, Europe, Canada, Australia, Taiwan and China. Chang has been recognised as a market leader and leading attorney in the areas of private equity and M&A by IFLR, Chambers, Legal 500, Asialaw and Asia Business Law Journal.

Prior to joining LCS in 2004, Chang was deputy general counsel of Trader Classified Media, a leading classified media company on the Paris Bourse, and had also practised for seven years in Boston with the firm of Testa Hurwitz & Thibeault.

Chang has represented numerous principals in the formation of PE and hedge funds operating in the US and Greater China, with billions in aggregate commitments. In addition, Chang represents many Taiwan financial institutions in connection with their overseas and local alternative investment activities. Chang assisted on the first successful Taiwan stalking horse bid in bankruptcy and a contested hostile takeover of a US-listed company.

Corporate and individual clients also frequently engage Chang to head negotiations in dispute settlements. Chang is a Taiwan-licensed arbitrator for complex, cross-border investments disputes. He is also a frequent guest lecturer on matters involving M&A, technology and startups at Academia Sinica and the National Taiwan University.
