Introduction
Dr Pijan Wu is senior counsel at LCS & Partners and adjunct associate professor at Soochow University Law School. He practices and teaches mainly in the following areas:
- International trade and investment. Advises private sector clients on complex cross-border projects (inbound and outbound), works with the public sector on international investment rules, and often sits on committees and panels related to such topics. Published a book entitled International Investment Law – IIAs and Cases in 2023, which is the only one of its kind in Taiwan.
- Arbitration. Works on both commercial and investment arbitration cases and is a government consultant. He is a Fellow in the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), appointed as Taiwan delegate to the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR, and listed on the Beijing International Arbitration Centre panel as well as the Arbitration Court of CAA.
- M&A. Wu has been recognised as the leading lawyer in this area many times. In line with current trends, his team is increasingly working on more M&A projects involving overseas Taiwanese businesses.
- Energy. Wu has been the external legal counsel of Taiwan’s Bureau of Energy, advising on energy law and policies. Along with Taiwan’s push for renewable energy, his team has worked on the majority of the offshore wind farm and large-scale solar projects. Wu received his LLB and EMBA from National Taiwan University, LLM from Soochow University and JSD from New York University. He is admitted to the New York State Bar.
