Introduction

Gary Hung joined Chien Yeh Law Offices in 2004 and became partner in charge in 2015. He currently leads a task force focusing on capital markets at Chien Yeh Law Offices. With more than 20 years of practice experience, Hung is distinguished for his expertise in delivering effective problem-solving abilities and dedicated to achieving the clients’ goals in several commercial transactions.

Apart from the above, Hung served in other professional roles during his career, including advisory commissioner at the Complaint Review Board for Government Procurement of the Taipei City Government and advisory commissioner at the Law and Regulation Commission of the Taipei City Government. He was also a lecturer for the “Workshop for Legal Practices” organised by the Department of Civil Servant Development of the Taipei City Government.

Hung primarily practises in overseas companies or domestic companies listing in Taiwan (i.e., initial public offerings), M&A, cross-border investments, corporate hostile takeovers, and securities exchange laws. From 2011 to 2026, Hung served as the issuer’s counsel or underwriter’s counsel for more than 50 projects involving listing on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) or Taipei Exchange (TPEx), including but not limited to Lucky Royal, Shanghai Commercial & Savings Bank, BTL, Amax Holding, Gongwin Biopharm Holdings, World Gym Corporation, Elixiron Immunotherapeutics and Abico Asia Capital Corporation.

With his extensive experience in assisting Taiwanese and foreign enterprises’ listings on the TWSE and TPEx, Hung has helped Chien Yeh Law Offices become prominent for providing a wide range of services in the capital markets. Due to Hung’s achievements for the capital markets practice, Chien Yeh Law Offices has been recognised as one of the top corporate law firms in Taiwan, and collected several awards from the TWSE and TPEx since 2011. These achievements include clinching two consecutive first places in the 2018 and 2019 TWSE awards for “Circulation of Securities Award: Law Firms Category”, the 2023 Capital Market Contribution Award and the 2024 Capital Market Contribution Award, both from the TWSE.
