Introduction

Edmund Kronenburg is the managing partner of Braddell Brothers, founded in Singapore in 1883. He is admitted as an advocate and solicitor (Singapore), and solicitor (England and Wales).

With more than 28 years’ experience in litigation and arbitration, Kronenburg regularly appears as lead counsel before the Singapore High Court and Court of Appeal, as well as in arbitrations seated in Singapore and internationally. His diverse practice includes commercial and corporate / shareholder disputes, energy and natural resources, media and telecommunications, fraud and investigations, as well as medical, healthcare and pharmaceutical law. He has also taught cross-examination and trial advocacy at the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law consistently since 1998.

Kronenburg also represents the Singapore Medical Council in disciplinary hearings and private clients in medical negligence claims before the Singapore courts; these include some landmark decisions of the Singapore Court of Appeal and the Court of Three Judges. He is an honorary legal adviser to the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, guest lectures at DUKE-NUS medical school, and has been part of the Singapore Medical Association’s Centre for Medical Ethics and Professionalism teaching faculty since 2012.

He frequently sits as an international arbitrator. Kronenburg has conducted various arbitrations seated in Singapore, Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam as tribunal chair, co-arbitrator and sole arbitrator. He is a Fellow of the CIArb, SIArb, MIArb, HKIArb, AMINZ, PIArb and ACICA, and a member of the CIArb and SIArb teaching faculties.
