Introduction
Bagus Nur Buwono is a founding partner of Bagus Enrico & Partners (BE Partners), one of Indonesia’s leading corporate and commercial law firms founded in 2009. He has more than 25 years of legal advisory works, contentious and non-contentious, spanning cross-border transactions specialising in corporate M&A, employment, infrastructure, real estate and construction, banking and finance, construction, strategic investment and general commercial matters across various sectors of industries.
Before founding BE Partners, he practised as a legal counsel at a prominent Jakarta law firm and held top legal positions at multinational banks as senior vice president and country head of legal, receiving numerous management awards awards for his ability to navigate Indonesia’s multifaceted legal landscape.

Buwono graduated from the Faculty of Law of Gadjah Mada University in Indonesia. On receiving the Chevening Scholarship Award, he continued his studies by undertaking the postgraduate programme in international business law (LLM) at the University of Manchester. He was also selected to attend a mini-MBA programme held by Mizuho Corporate Bank in co-operation with Hitotsubashi University Tokyo.
Buwono is a member of the Indonesian Advocates Association (PERADI) while also co-lecturing on company law for the international undergraduate programme and the international commercial contract laws for the postgraduate programme at the Faculty of Law of Gadjah Mada University. He was also the author of a book focusing on the complexities and practical applications of the Indonesian corporate world, Running a Company under Indonesian Laws, published by Rajawali Pers in 2021.
