Eiji Kobayashi is a partner in Mayer Brown’s corporate practice group. He is based in the Tokyo office and has more than 20 years of experience in representing the world’s leading industrial conglomerates, including technology, automobile, real estate/hospitality and life sciences companies in cross-border M&As, commercial transactions, disputes, regulatory compliance and investigation matters.
He works seamlessly between English and Japanese in corporate negotiations representing Japanese corporations. He also represents Japanese companies and individuals negotiating with foreign regulatory agencies in overseas regulatory investigations matters, especially in product safety, anti-corruption/bribery, conflicts of interest and other compliance and governance issues for Japanese clients.
