Introduction
Satyapon Sachdecha is the managing partner at Satyapon & Partners, having established the firm in 1995. He completed his LLM from the University of Miami School of Law and MCL from the George Washington Law School. Sachdecha has been practising exclusively in the field of IP for almost 40 years with a special focus on trademarks, copyright and patents, and is a pioneer in anti-counterfeiting and brand enforcement in Thailand, representing some of the largest fortune 500 companies in the world.
A proven leader in the IP field, Sachdecha is one of the foremost IP practitioners in Thailand, having started working in this field when few knew the intricacies of IP law. He has been consistently ranked as one of the best IP lawyers in Thailand, has served in numerous committees to oversee the development of IP law in Thailand, including serving as President of Intellectual Property Association of Thailand (IPAT) for five consecutive terms, vice president of AIPPI in Thailand for over 10 years, and IP expert to the Thai Trademark Board. He has been recognised by several leading publications over three decades for his crowning achievements in the IP field. A known figure among the prominent law enforcement agencies, Sachdecha is keenly involved in conducting training and brand awareness programs for the authorities to better protect brand owners’ IP rights.
Sachdecha also personally oversees a tremendous volume of trademark prosecution and contentious work at the firm and has an enviable record of winning landmark cases at the courts.
Outside of work, Sachdecha is involved in teaching IP law at some of the most prestigious universities in Thailand, helping create a new generation of tech-savvy IP lawyers for the future.
