Introduction
David Lim leads the corporate practice group at Teng Sheng & Fatima with a wealth of expertise spanning mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate commercial transactions, regulatory advisory, digital assets and entertainment.
Renowned for his proficiency in cross border transactions, Lim has advised a diverse array of domestic and international clients across various industries, including aviation, insurance, fund management, renewable energy, healthcare, online marketplace platforms, commodities, and oil and gas. This broad client base has equipped him with a deep understanding of different markets, allowing him to tailor his advice to meet specific legal and regulatory needs.
In the renewable energy sector, Lim has been instrumental in guiding companies through complex engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) contracts, power purchase agreements, and operation and maintenance agreements for both hydro and solar power projects.
His achievements also include successfully assisting a domestic boutique fund management company in securing a capital market services licence from the Securities Commission of Malaysia.
Moreover, Lim is one of the few Malaysian lawyers with extensive experience in the entertainment industry, representing record labels, management companies, and artists in the Southeast Asia region. His unique expertise makes him a trusted advisor in this dynamic field.
As he would say, “In a rapid evolving legal landscape, staying informed and adaptable is key to providing effective counsel to the clients. We must always be prepared to expand your knowledge and embrace new challenges.”
